Children and young people

We know that local activities for young people are high on residents priority list.

Hope North London

We are pleased to be funding a new kids and youth activity programme for the Grange Estate (it launched in June 2019). Local Finchley-based organisation Hope North London are leading the programme - they have lots of experience running young peoples activities on East Finchley's estates. All Grange families are welcome every Tuesday and Saturday 3.30-5pm in term time.

Art Against Knives

Working in partnership with Grange Big Local, Barnet Homes and the local community, Art Against Knives designed a new programme of support to reduce serious youth violence and safeguard young people living in the N2 area and will be continuing its work in 2019/20.

Here are some of the other projects for local children and young people we have supported:

Wild About Our Woods

GBL part funded a woodland holiday club for children run by Wild About Our Woods (2018-2019). This gave children oppportunity to explore the great ourdoors in a safe and supportive environment.

Basketball is Education

GBL funded Barnet Bulldogs to run this project (2017-2019). The programme uses the skills and discipline assocatied with basketballl to have a positive effect on marginalised young people.
